We stayed in a place which, sans low cloud, boasts prime views of Fujisan. As we left on a mission(to eat some delicious Ramen) a fellow guest yelled out what could only be interpreted as “You going to climb Mt Fuji?!” followed by roaring laughter from him and his mates. Classic yarns.

Here we go gathering blackberries.

Every Summer, an elite group of foragers raid this secret spot. They risk scratches and take on thorns. Jam, cakes and fistfuls of blackberries are well worth the risk. Eating while picking is compulsory.

Pure magic. At each corner I thought this is as close as we will be, and then we were closer.

Osaka + Amagasaki

Japan. Blew my mind. Such a beautiful place full of genuinely lovely, helpful people. Delicious food, infrastructure that is efficiency personified and some unexpected wilderness in between the cities, but they’re all stories for another post.

Christchurch Botanic Gardens -Tropical Greenhouse

Botanic Gardens exist to protect biodiversity, aid scientific research, support conservation and contribute to a whole lot of good things. Noble pursuits indeed. I just like looking at them.
