Hidden Lake – Part 1, The hardest day

This trip was the first and last time I will ever go tramping while sick with a cough and cold. A testament to proper planning, what we thought would be a two hour amble became a ten hour mission featuring four bleeding noses and most forms of weather e.g. hot sun, strong winds &  heavy rain. Upon arriving at a seemingly hostile lake, with wind slamming down on the water, driving hail and birds circling overhead (photo evidence in Part 2), we filled up our water containers before walking back down the hill for another two hours until we found a sheltered campsite for the night. 10 out of 10 would recommend cashews on curry after a day like that.
